"PITTSBURGH (AP) - A woman has sued Kmart for allegedly collecting a 7 percent state sales tax on a nontaxable item: a 12-pack of toilet tissue.
Although most paper goods are taxable under Pennsylvania's sales tax code, toilet tissue is listed as a nontaxable item by the state Department of Revenue.
Bach told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette she was overcharged for the item at the same store twice before she filed the small claims suit last month in district court in Monroeville.
She is seeking $100 in damages plus court costs."
1) How the hell did toilet paper lady even know such an obscure law?
2) And how much will this cost the taxpayers?
Lady, you could have just told them, showed them the law and gotten a refund. For FUCK SAKE!!!! People need to stop frickin' suing for EVERYTHING, it's out of control! This woman is taking a company to court over 28 cents for the love of all that's hops and barley, why, why??????
