Main highlights include:

* Christian elements to be stripped from the Monarchy, Parliament and the honours system to “foster a sense of shared values.”

* A national civic day should be established to “celebrate what Britain means” to local communities. On that day “people should be encouraged to fly many flags, not just one flag, and establish or rekindle local festivals and traditions.”

* Support for the European Union should also be an essential part of British identity.

* The state could do more to mark the registration of a new-born child, which could act as a point at which parents and the state commit to bringing up a child and supporting it throughout his or her life. (SCARY!!!)

What this reports basically says is FUCK CHRISTIANITY and any sense of nationalism. From the comments on this story:

I wonder how many of the highly paid people who came up with this report are actually English? Unlike many other countries we hardly have any traditions left so downgrading/phasing out Christmas would leave us no choice but to adopt Muslim celebrations just to fill the void. ..when I read nonsense like this I'm really glad I left the country...• Posted by: endre"
