We Need Better Allies: Pakistani State Of Emergency

"Suspending basic rights and sacking independent-minded judges may buy President Gen. Pervez Musharraf more time in power, but his assumption of emergency powers could ultimately destabilize Pakistan further and embolden Islamic militants.

Western allies will also find it increasingly awkward to support a military leader who twice seized power by force and has become a hate-figure to many at home."

I mean what do you do here? We are "allies" with Pakistan, though they're really nothing but a tool as Saddam was so long ago.

Now that Musharraf has gone all junta on his country, it puts the west and particularly America in an uncomfortable position. Do we continue to deal with him and get what small amount of help he's offered fighting the muzzie scum hiding up in his mountains? Or do we support those who want him outed and who are completely anti-west, especially America, and take our chances. Hmmmmmm. Something to think about.
