"HUNDREDS of asylum seekers trying to sneak into Britain were treated to a free Christmas party in Calais yesterday.

Five hundred people – mainly Muslims – got food, drink, gifts and party bags.

There were no carols in case they were offended.

Entertainers included a clown dressed as Santa and local children singing Ethiopia’s national anthem. Pasta, chicken and cake were served instead of traditional turkey dinners.

A C’SUR spokesman said: “We had to be very careful not to offend Muslim sensibilities.” Guests were given gloves, scarves and bags of sweets.
Party guest Jamal Shajhee, 16, from Afghanistan, told The Sun: “Tonight I will try to make my way to England because there are many benefits there for me.”

Local residents slammed the bash. Laurent Fonck, 39, said: “More will come here if they know they will be well looked after."
