Honoring Our Vets...... Or Not : Updated

As everyone knows, the NON-PARTISAN group Vets for Freedom are touring the country. One place they were to stop is Forest Lake up in Minnesota. No anymore....

"A national tour featuring decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan won't be stopping at Forest Lake Area High School today as planned, after school leaders abruptly canceled the visit.

Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.

He said the school had received several phone calls from parents and others, some of whom indicated that they may stage a protest if the event took place."

I am curious, who are the "others"? F*ckers.

UPDATED: Katherine Kersten from the Star Tribune in Minnesota has gotten her share of love by writing about this.

Looks like she found the "others" who complained: "At “Democratic Underground Forums,” there was an announcement of a press conference by various unidentified groups opposing the Vets for Freedom appearance. The announcement exhorted “Veterans for Peace” to oppose the appearance and listed contact info for Massey; school board president Bill Bresin, and the Forest Lake Area Schools district office. The post expressed “outrage” that Vets for Freedom was going to meet with students to “indoctrinate them on the joys of war." Yup, DU. Shocking.

Comment from her post, an American loving patriot:
"As an honorably discharged Vietnam era vet, and currently have two sons attending Forest Lake h/s, i couldnt be more pleased by the principals decision to cancel the charade known as vets for freedom. A public school is no place for brainwashing young minds, what’s next arm bands, brown shirts, and goosestepping around the parking lot?"

Ah..... This guy has kids folks, two of them.
