Al Sharpton/ Sean Bell Protests In New York

UPDATED: SHARPTON ARRESTED. YEAH!!!! Keep him there!!!!!

Al Sharpton planned on holding city wide protests in New York City today. The protests were in response to the not guilty verdict handed down to three police officers accused of killing Sean Bell and injuring his two friends last year.

"Queens State Supreme Court Judge Arthur Cooperman on April 25 acquitted the detectives in the shooting of Bell and his two friends Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield outside a Jamaica strip club Nov. 25, 2006."

So what's up in NY......
Not much, which is good.

"Some 10 people knelt at the entrance of the Queens Midtown Tunnel, where more than 100 demonstrators had gathered. Chanting "Justice for Sean Bell," they brought traffic to a standstill, blocking the entrance to the tunnel.

In the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, a group of about 250 people marched from the House of the Lord Pentecostal Church on Atlantic Avenue toward the Brooklyn Bridge.

Led by the Rev. Herbert Daughtry, the church's activist pastor, and city Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn), they counted to 50 -- the number of shots that police fired at Bell and his friends -- and chanted, "We are all Sean Bell!"

Let's hope the protests stay peaceful.
