The White House declared it "deeply" regretted the Scottish decision as Abdel Baset al-Megrahi left prison and flew to Libya on an Airbus dispatched to Glasgow Airport.
Scotland's justice secretary said freeing the bomber was an expression of the Scottish people's humanity but U.S. family members of Lockerbie victims expressed outrage."
This is beyond appalling. He should have been left to die, rotting away in a prison cell until he drew his last breath. Preferably without pain meds to make his end "comfortable". Has this sick fuck once apologized. Not that there are words to even remotely atone for his slaughter of mainly college students heading home for Christmas. Did he? No, he just left to go home and die in peace with his family surrounding him, unlike the horrific deaths he meted out upon his 279 innocent victims.
