Why re-elect Arnold?

In lieu of Friday funnies I'll use a joke to describe this state: California is like granola, take away the fruits and nuts and all you have are flakes. Pretty accurate, and I live here. Born and raised.

After the debacle that was: GRAY DAVIS (shudder); people would have voted for my dog just to get the guy out. I think many voted for Arnie, because he was a novelty. I voted for him, because if even half of what he promised came true, we'd be in pretty good shape.

Take a look at what he's accomplished:In the two years since Governor Schwarzenegger was elected, California's economy has grown, the state budget deficit has been slashed, taxes have been cut and more than 500,000 jobs have been created.

Some of the standouts are:
Signed legislation allowing hybrid vehicles to travel in high-occupancy vehicle lanes.
Expanded the Healthy Families program including another 126,000 uninsured children to ensure they have adequate health coverage.
Expanded nurse training by committing $124 million to programs.
Eliminated 11 superfluous boards and commissions.
This one is HUGE:Wait times at the DMV dropped from an average 1 hour to just 21 minutes!
Arnie's Breathe Easier campaign has led to more than 7,745 cars being taken off the road – the equivalent of keeping 364 tons of air pollutants from being emitted into the air each year.

Wow, and that's just a few. If the unions hadn't almost bankrupted themselves fighting the initiatives last November, we'd be in an even better place. All in all I'd give Arnie a B+. He's a moderate conservative, and does tend to pander to our south of the border friends too much, but he's done an outstanding job with the absolute mess he was handed, in such a short time.

Then we take a look at his opponent: Phil Angelides, comes out swinging with petty attacads's (like Francine Busby) and offers no solutions that aren't either already on the plate, or being addressed at this time. Then, you look at his record. Flip Flopper Kerry Style, here are some examples:
He mocks Arnie for dealing with special interest groups, then his campaign accepted $574,000 from law firms he hired to be state bond counsel.
He campaigns in Santa Barbara for coastal protection and then took $143,200 in campaign checks from developers who, over Sierra Club objections, bulldozed the Dana Point Headlands to build 118 oceanfront houses.

Nah, I think we can do without this guy.

Take a look at Arnie's record, it speaks for itself. I mean face it, the guy can't act, so he needs work. : ) Re-Elect Arnold Schwarzenegger.
