Well said:
Thirty-eight leading British Muslim groups, plus Muslim MPs and peers, demand changes to policies they say increase attacks on civilians in Iraq and Lebanon.
In their desire to knock Britain they ignore the fact that the civilians dying in Iraq are victims of Muslim attacks on Muslims.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah chooses to hide among civilians, putting them at fearful risk.
Israel publicly REGRETS every Lebanese civilian’s death.
Muslim Hezbollah CELEBRATES every Israeli civilian’s death.
The Home Secretary correctly describes the British Muslims’ view as a “dreadful misjudgment”.
He points out they would allow terrorists to dictate our policies.
Scathingly he continues: “That is not the British way . . . we make decisions by democracy, not under the threat of terrorism.”
Mr Reid should have gone further.
He should have told the Muslim leaders to turn their criticism on the terrorists — here and abroad.
Once again leading Muslims are intent on appeasing and excusing Muslim violence rather than condemning it.
