Stimulus: Republican ALL Say No

NOTE TO REPUBLICANS: DO NOT CAVE
"House and Senate Republicans should back away from the bloated, pork filled spending bill that Democrats are masking as a stimulus. New computers for State Department bureaucrats? Food stamps? $335 million to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (someone please tell me how preventing STDs is going to revive the economy)?"

100% of House Republicans said no. 177 Republicans and 11 Democrats said no to this catastrophic failure of a bill. Maybe, just maye they do listen. I;ll not hold my breathe. Next-The Senate.

Bailout Mania May Be Denied? UPDATED

Hmmmmm I like the sound of this: "Democratic lawmakers and the White House reached a deal on an emergency $14 billion loan program for the auto industry, but Senate Republicans are not happy with the plan."

Well, neither is THIS Republican. Go Senate! Go Senate! Go Senate!

UPDATED: Senate Republicans slap the bail out down. Then the RINO President slaps THEM down. 89% of American's DO NOT SUPPORT A AUTO BAIL OUT MR. PRESIDENT!!!!!
"Hours after a Senate effort to pass an auto bailout bill collapsed, administration officials Friday morning said they were willing to reverse their previous position and consider using their existing $700 billion financial-rescue fund to prevent the collapse of any of Detroit's Big Three."

$700 Billion Bail Out Does NOTHING For Markets

I have likened the bail out plan to a band-aid on a bullet wound from day one. You put the band-aid on the wound and all it does is cover the hole and leaves the bullet inside, festering and rotting until you eventually have to operate, remove the bullet, sew it up and take copious amounts of antibiotics to kill the infection.

"A global wave of pessimism reached New York Monday morning, shoving the Dow as much as 580 points into the red and below the pivotal 10,000 level for the first time in nearly four years."

Instead of further pushing the American taxpayer into debt, Congress had a golden opportunity to cut worthless social programs, their own paychecks and other odd ball spending.

To the banks, predatory lenders and other financial institutions: FAIL. You cheat, lie and rob, FAIL.
To the homeowners who bought homes they couldn't afford. Tough luck. Try renting.
To the companies who outsourced all their jobs while Americans had to collect unemployment: Shame on you.

This $700 billion pile of craptastic crap has and will do nothing to help the problems we all brought upon ourselves. Do I know the answer right now? No, but this isn't it.

It's nothing but a band-aid on a bullet wound.

Bail Out Bill Passes

"Lawmakers voted 263-171 to pass the bill. It was the second time this week the House voted. On Monday, it rejected an earlier version, but accepted changes after the Senate added sweeteners and supported it on Wednesday."

Bollocks.

Just a reminder:

Nancy Pelosi Sucks, Plus, The News

Just like her friend Diane Feinstein. They do take care of their husbands.
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has directed nearly $100,000 from her political action committee to her husband's real estate and investment firm over the past decade, a practice of paying a spouse with political donations that she supported banning last year."

Bill Maher on The View calls Gov. Palin a bimbo. He pretends to be calling Bush and Dan Quayle a bimbo as well. Nice try Bill. What a total douche bag. Then he goes on to say,"...this country is still extremely religious because we’re young and dumb." Nice. Then Joy et al called her dumb the other day. I think I smell desperation.

The now famously Republican bashed "Bail Out Bill" was FULL of pork, check this out:
FOUND IN THE BILL-
Sec. 316. Railroad track maintenance.
Sec. 317. Seven-year cost recovery period for motorsports racing track facility.
Sec. 324. Extension of enhanced charitable deduction for contributions of book inventory.
Sec. 308. Increase in limit on cover over of rum excise tax to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Sec. 502. Provisions related to film and television productions.
Extension and modification of duty suspension on wool products; wool research fund; wool duty refunds.
Sec. 601. Secure rural schools and community self-determination program.

Who Killed the Bill
?
"Clyburn was not whipping the votes you would have expected him to, in part because he was uncomfortable doing it, in part because we didn't want the push for votes to be successful," says one leadership aide. "All we needed was enough to potentially get us over the finish line, but we wanted the Republicans to be the ones to do it. This was not going to be a Democrat-passed bill if the Speaker had anything to say about it." Interesting.

Breaking: Bail Out Bill - Republicans VOTE NAY

UPDATED: BARNEY FRANK IS A TWIT. "Because somebody hurt their feelings, they decided to punish the country," Frank said." We're Republicans, we DON'T HAVE feelings.

UPDATED: 228 Nay(134 Republicans/94 Dems)- 205 Yea(141 Dems/64 Republicans)About 60% of Democrats voted for the measure, but less than a third of Republicans backed it.

UPDATED: I just heard a gavel go down and time is OUT.

UPDATED: DOW is down 777. And why do I care?????

UPDATED: Oil falls to under $97 a barrel.

"Today is the decision day," said Barney Frank, D-Mass., on the House floor. "If we defeat this bill today, it will be a very bad day for the financial sector of the American economy and the people who will feel the pain are not the top bankers and top corporate executives but average Americans."

Rep. Gary Miller, R-Calif., also urged passage of the bill, despite reservations he admitted all members had on the proposal."

Yeah I got me some bleeping reservations.
"Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, said the measure would leave a huge burden on taxpayers.

Other conservative Republicans argued the bill would be a blow against economic freedom.

Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich., said the bill posed a choice between the loss of prosperity in the short term or economic freedom in the long term. He said once the federal government enters the financial market place, it will not leave. "The choice is stark," he said."

Just remember who voiced opposition.
