"Over 1,300 people are reported dead after Russian forces responded to a Georgian attack on rebels in the breakaway province of South Ossetia by mounting a full scale invasion."
I await the righteous indignation by the "Global Leftards" in regard to this illegal war.
"Georgia will withdraw 1,000 soldiers from its military contingent of around 2,000 troops in Iraq to help in the fighting against South Ossetian separatist rebels, a top Georgian official said."
Interesting. Russia has been one of the Islamic nutbags biggest supporters, now they attack a country with 2,000 troops in the M.E..... Hmmmmm

Memorial Day: Remembering Those Who Died
The Last Mile
By: Iain Sherwood
I walked the last mile with my brother today
In the garden of stone.
On a caisson drawn by horses gray
He rode alone.
Drum beats echoed hollow in the air
As iron shod hooves rang on the pavement.
A platoon his escort
To take him home in Arlington,
Where a century of heroes lie row on row
Their duty done.
The Honor Guard carried him lovingly
For brother he is to all those there interred.
Amid presidents, astronauts, explorers and heroes
He takes a place well deserved.
The prayers are said; the volleys fired
And the flag is folded
Carefully, never again to be unfurled.
Rest well, weary soldier, now and forever;
The Corps has called you home.
Rest well, my brother.
Iain Sherwood, September 19, 2002, MacLean, Virginia
I wrote this the day we buried my brother, Captain Charles Sherwood III, on his birthday, at Arlington.

Dogs Of War

"New military training facilities during World War II were seldom considered unusual. But this one, headquartered in Belmont's Devonshire Country Club that opened late in 1942, was. It was considered among the Army's more important but lesser-known installations, the War Dog Reception and Training Center, "Dogtown," as it was more commonly known.
No peewee operation, Dogtown was staffed by 550 enlisted men and 53 commissioned officers. Professional dog trainers were recruited from around the nation. Many were European immigrants. Manuals for training were based on previously published World War I French, English, Belgian and even German models. In the hills of Belmont and San Carlos, combat, sentry and medical dogs were trained for all branches of the armed forces.
Dogs, previously trained for the vaudeville stage, usually smart critters, were welcomed, but required to unlearn all tricks. French poodles, with GI haircuts, became unrecognizable, and Dalmatians, used as messengers, were died black or brown so as not to stand out on a battlefield."

Cool huh....Birdy is in training now, she's going to be a Moonbat hunter.

Winning Hearts And Minds

"Dramatic new video shows how American soldiers in Afghanistan are being set up for deadly ambushes after trying to make peace with village elders in Taliban-controlled areas.
The effort to win the "hearts and minds" of village elders in the Korengal Valley of Kunar Province in Afghanistan has proved to be a dangerous one for U.S. troops, with elders often suspected of tipping Taliban fighters to the soldiers' schedule and whereabouts.
The new video shows the men of the 2nd Platoon of Battle Company twice walking into traps after leaving meetings with village elders, one called to discuss details of a U.S.-financed water pipe project."
Now here's what I was talking about the other day on Jenn's Jungle Republic Radio. We give and help and fight and what do we get? A fucking knife in the back.
How do we go about winning the hearts and minds of a people so ingrained to hate us? I mean it starts in infancy with these people; the indoctrination of hate. Hate The West. Hate Women. No booze, no pork, no porn, no freedom, no fun....hate, hate, hate.
When 17 year old girls hate so much they strap on a suicide belt and blow themselves up you've got a problem. When you see tens of thousands of these people rioting in the street torching, maiming and killing, over essentially nothing, you've got a problem. When mullahs preach death to the infidel and advocate wiping entire countries off the face of the planet and the youth embraces their teachings, you've got a problem. When a people preach that Western women are sluts for wearing jeans and t-shirts, and deserve to be raped, you've got a problem. When our elected officials in The West are so scared of a people they bend over backwards so as not to offend them at the expense of offending so many others.
Is it possible to win their hearts and minds?

Turks Little Iraqi Incursion?

Do we really care?
"Several thousand Turkish troops crossed into northern Iraq early Wednesday to chase Kurdish guerrillas who attack Turkey from bases there, two Turkish security officials said. Turkey's foreign minister denied its troops had entered Iraq."
"Turkey's private NTV television quoted Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul as saying reports of a cross-border operation were false.
"There is no such thing, no entry to another country. If such a thing happens, then we would announce it," Gul said. "We are in a war with terror, we will do whatever is necessary to fight terrorism."
"Several military officials at the Pentagon said they have seen nothing Wednesday that would confirm the reports of Turkish troops crossing the border into Iraq."
What of it? If they are killing terrorists, I see it as a good thing. That's if they even went in at all.

Bomb,Bomb,Bomb...Bomb, Bomb Iran

Why not, they are begging for it.
"Iran is secretly forging ties with Al Qaeda elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials told The Guardian newspaper in Britain."

When Did We Invade Lebanon? Palestine?
Muzzies killing Muzzies by the truckload in Lebanon and Palestine. I'm curious as to when we started our preemptive wars there? I mean we all know it's STRICTLY DUE TO OUR FOREIGN POLICY, that muzzies go on murderous rampages. So I guess that means we're there....
"The confrontation between the Lebanese Army and Islamic militants at a Palestinian refugee camp continued unabated today, after an eruption of violence on Sunday that claimed at least 39 lives and left dozens injured."
"Nizar Riyan, a Hamas leader in Gaza, says his organization is determined to have Israel wiped off the map and be replaced by a state of Palestine.
Riyan called upon the PA Arab factions in Gaza to keep fighting the Jews "even if the Arabs and Abu Mazen do not agree, until the last Jew leaves Palestine."
We need to cut and run NOW!
