Day without a Mexican!

Yea!!! Happy "Day without a Mexican". (Can't call it day without an immigrant, because at least three, legal immigrants I know, the Irishman, the Ukrainian and the Englishman, are all working today.)

So far, according to both my own commute and those calling into the local radio stations, it's made for a blessedly, rattle-trap-pollution-oozing-crap-bucket-van/truck free day here on the freeways of our border town, San Diego.

Many calling into the radio stations were highly praising this lovely freedom to drive at least 85 on the freeways, and not get smacked in the face by some black smoke shooting from the tailpipe of a car from Baja.

Many were crying in their double nonfat mocha frappachino about how nice it was not to be sitting in traffic. I know personally, it was nice to drive to the office without getting hooted and whistled at by the workers that clog the street I have to drive down each day on the way to the office.

Right on!!!! Keep up the good work, uh, non work!

UPDATE: Apparently the local McDonalds is closed due to no workers. This came from a co-worker. So, besides being good for the environment and commuting, no Mexicans means no fatty McD's either. So, it's good for the waistline. Nice, just another benefit. Sounds like they should stay away for the betterment of all of America. They have succeeded in showing us how much we don't miss them.
