Ron Paul's controversial letters really show him for the bullshit artist he is.
First he completely disavows the letters sent from HIS OFFICE WITH HIS NAME ON THEM. “It’s 22 years ago. I didn‘t write ’em, I disavow ‘em, that’s it,” he told CNN. “I never read that stuff, I was probably aware of it 10 years after it was written.”
Then he admits he wrote "portions" of them.
If he can't even get it right about some homophobic/racist newsletters WITH HIS NAME ON THEM, how the hell is he qualified to run the country.

Christmas Day Massacre An Honor Killing?
Like most people I was sickened and saddened by the news Christmas Day of a whole family slaughtered in Grapevine Texas. But as detail emerge it becomes even more sickening.
"Islamic honor killing in Texas: "Santa" who murdered family on Christmas morning was Muslim who didn't like his daughter dating a non-Muslim..."
Now let me be clear....this is only a possible motive but the story is compelling. As is the media's total ignorance of many of these facts. The murderer, Aziz Yazdanpanah, a Muslim, didn't like his daughter's non-Muslim boyfriend and was acting erratically. Installing cameras, taking his daughters phone away and nailing her window shut. I await the media coverage.

“Millionaire job creators are like unicorns. They’re impossible to find, and they don’t exist… Only a tiny fraction of people making more than a million dollars, probably less than 1 percent, are small business owners. And only a tiny fraction of that tiny fraction are traditional job creators…Most of these businesses are hedge fund managers or wealthy lawyers. They don’t do much hiring and they don’t need tax breaks.”
Taking their cue, National Public Radio launched a search for one millionaire job creator. They triumphantly announced:
“NPR requested help from numerous Republican congressional offices, including House and Senate leadership. They were unable to produce a single millionaire job creator for us to interview.”
Were it not for Google, I would have accepted Harry Reid’s unicorn story and NPR’s confirmation. Unlike Harry Reid’s office, I went to the IRS’s Table 1.4 “Sources of income, adjustments, and tax size of adjusted gross income, 2009” to check things out. (I summarize my sources in a separate blog posting). Here is what I found:
There are 236,883 tax filers with incomes of a million dollars or more. By Harry Reid’s count, only one percent, or 2,361 of them, are business owners, and a tiny fraction of them create jobs. I do not know what Harry means when he says “a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction.” If we let 5 percent represent Harry’s “tiny fraction,” we are left with 118 businesses owners who earn a million or more and create jobs. Yes, they are only slightly less rare than unicorns, if Harry is to be believed.
This leaves 236,765 million-dollar-plus tax payers, most of whom are “hedge fund managers and wealthy lawyers” who “don’t create jobs and don’t need tax breaks.
This is puzzling: If Harry Reid’s figure is correct (2,361 millionaire businesses), then the average millionaire-owned business earns almost a hundred million dollars, and all, except 118 of them, do this without hiring anyone. These super heroes do their own typing, selling, drafting. public relations, building, and manufacturing. They do not need employees. Remarkable!"

It is being reported that Kim Jong Il has died.

Ummm OK...even though Christmas is a SECULAR FEDERAL HOLIDAY for which the U.S. Post Office even offers RELIGIOUS stamps as well as secular ones. And WTF is wrong with a trio singing some fun songs? I sat in line for 20 minutes to mail out Christmas cards today and it would have been a HELLUVA lot more fun if there had been ANY sort of entertainment beside the screaming Chinese family who were trying to box up a beaten up duffel bag.

Lowe's Pulls Ads From Muslim TLC Show
TLC, the channel that has brought such deep and meaningful shows to us as "Say YES To The Dress" and other such drivel, has a new show on called "All American Muslim". I have actually watched this show. Once. It was enough for me.
Being a practicing Muslim, no matter how nice you are, no matter how "westernized" you are is so anti-American and so NOT what this country actually USED to represent that the title alone should be changed. Sorry but covering your body so as not to temp evil wicked men, is so fucking backwards and so totally anti-freedom, anti-woman's rights and anti-AMERICAN you just cannot explain it away. And come on Dearborn Michigan is packed full of Jihadis.
So....some group in Florida (Florida Family Association) started a campaign to get advertisers to pull their ads from the show. And they succeeded.
Lowe's pulls ads from 'All-American Muslim' after 'ordinary' portrayal protested.....
I'm OK with this....people asked and Lowe's made a decision. Good for them.
That is EXACTLY what freedom of speech is all about. Of course people could just choose NOT to watch the stupid show and not shop at those who advertise on it as well.

Holiday Depression
I just watched the video below and got a little misty eyed myself. It appears that the meteorologist from this Kansas City news station took his life earlier this week.
With people barely making ends meet. The absurd inflation. Jobless claims once more UP. This time of year, which should be fun, merry and full of cheer can be a sad, depressing time. If you know someone who is having issues, consider taking some time out to listen to them. You may or may not help, but at least you can say you tried. Sometimes all someone needs is another human to just listen to them. That should be part of the season as well.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, it was business as usual for the rest of the pack. Macy’s announced its “The More the Merrier Sale” - “merry,” as in, well, you know. Circuit City boasted of having “The Most Wanted Gifts of the Season” (what season, it doesn’t say). Toys R Us claimed to have “The Lowest Prices of the Season” (ditto). The Sports Authority: “Only 25 Shopping Days left” (‘til what?); By contrast, Kohl’s again proclaimed a “Christmas Countdown Sale.”Kohl's wins my money this year.
