LOL. Coachella is a joke these days. The headliners suck, they show up late and it's in the middle of the god forsaken desert.

"Have you seen this pig? It's huge, inflatable, features the word "Obama" and it has lost its way in the California desert.

As tall as a two-story house and as wide as two school buses, the pig was led from lines held on the ground Sunday as Waters played a version of Pink Floyd's "Pigs" from the 1977 anti-capitalist album "Animals." Then it just floated away.

The pig displays the words "Don't be led to the slaughter" and a cartoon of Uncle Sam holding two bloody cleavers. The other side reads "Fear builds walls" and the underside reads "Obama" with a checked ballot box for U.S. Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama."

"The Supreme Court ruled Monday that states can require voters to show photo identification at the polls, in a closely watched case with important ramifications for the 2008 elections.

In a 6-3 decision, the justices upheld an earlier decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Proponents of the Indiana law at issue in the case, Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, said the state’s interest in preventing voter impersonation fraud outweighs whatever burden might be placed on a small number of people. Opponents argued that the Indiana law unfairly burdens poor and elderly voters, who tend to favor Democrats but are least likely to have driver’s licenses or passports.

The Justice Department sided with Indiana in the case, agreeing that the voter ID requirement is constitutional."

This is a no brainer. It should be required in EVERY state to show ID to vote. Period.

Questions about Obama's character

April 25, 2008

"Real change has never been easy . . . . The status quo in Washington will fight. They will fight harder than ever to divide us and distract us with ads and attacks from now until November.
– Barack Obama, Pennsylvania primary night speech

With that, Obama identified the new public enemy: the “distractions” foisted upon a pliable electorate by the malevolent forces of the status quo, i.e., those who might wish to see someone else become president next January. “It's easy to get caught up in the distractions and the silliness and the tit for tat that consumes our politics” and “trivializes the profound issues” that face our country, he warned sternly. These must be resisted.

Why? Because Obama understands that the real threat to his candidacy is less Hillary Clinton and John McCain than his own character and cultural attitudes. He came out of nowhere with his autobiography already written, then saw it embellished daily by the hagiographic coverage and kid-gloves questioning of a supine press. (Which is why those “Saturday Night Live” parodies were so devastatingly effective.)

Then came the three amigos: Tony Rezko, the indicted fixer; Jeremiah Wright Jr., the racist reverend; William Ayers, the unrepentant terrorist. And then Obama's own anthropological observation that “bitter” working-class whites cling to guns and religion because they misapprehend their real class interests.

In the now-famous Pennsylvania debate, Obama had extreme difficulty answering questions about these associations and attitudes. The difficulty is understandable. Some of the contradictions are inexplicable. How does one explain campaigning throughout 2007 on a platform of transcending racial divisions, while in that same year contributing $26,000 to a church whose pastor incites race hatred?

What is Obama to do? Dismiss all such questions about his associations and attitudes as “distractions.” And then count on his acolytes in the media to wage jihad against those who have the temerity to raise these questions. As if the character and beliefs of a man who would be president are less important than the “issues.” As if some political indecency was committed when Obama was prevented from going through his 21st – and likely last – primary debate without being asked about Wright or Ayers or the tribal habits of gun-toting, God-loving Pennsylvanians.

Take Ayers. Obama makes it sound as if the relationship consists of having run into each other at the DMV. In fact, Obama's political career was launched in a 1995 meeting at Ayers' home. Obama's own campaign says they maintain “friendly” relations.

Obama's defense is that he was 8 when Ayers and his Weather Underground comrades were planting bombs at the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol and other buildings. True. But Obama was 40 when Ayers said publicly that he doesn't regret setting bombs. Indeed, he said, “I feel we didn't do enough.”

Would you maintain friendly relations with an unrepentant terrorist? Would you even shake his hand? To ask why Obama does is perfectly legitimate and perfectly relevant to understanding what manner of man he is.

Obamaphiles are even more exercised about the debate question regarding the flag pin. Now, I have never worn one. Whether anyone does is a matter of total indifference to me. But apparently not to Obama. He's taken three affirmative steps in regard to flag pins. After the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, he began wearing one. At a later point, he stopped wearing it. Then last year he explained why: Because it “became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security.”

Apart from the self-congratulatory fatuousness of that statement – as if in this freest of all countries, political self-expression is somehow scarce or dangerous or a sign of patriotic courage – to speak of pin-wearing as a sign of inauthentic patriotism is to make an issue of it yourself. For Obamaphiles to now protest the very asking of the question requires a fine mix of cynicism and self-righteousness.

But Obama needs to cast out such questions as illegitimate distractions because they are seriously damaging his candidacy. As people begin to learn about this just-arrived pretender, the magic dissipates. He spent six weeks in Pennsylvania. Outspent Clinton more than 2-to-1. Ran close to 10,000 television ads – spending more than anyone in any race in the history of the state – and lost by 10 points.

And not because he insufficiently demagogued NAFTA or the other “issues.” It was because of those “distractions” – i.e., the things that most reveal character and core beliefs."

"A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents had told him to shut up, authorities said Wednesday.

German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.

They had been in the audience to hear the Bushes talk about their children's book, "Read All About It."

"He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, 'What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,' " said John Lovetro. "He was unperturbed. I said, 'Get out of here! You're being a moron!' "

The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen, a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004."

Add to that an Eagle and her 14 y/o son getting roughed up this past weekend and other examples of the violence of the left such as what is happening at recruiting centers, and I am going to suggest people start carrying Bat spray. I mean KOS is advocating full out violence at the DNC. These people are no longer "fellow Americans", they are terrorists.

In Denver overnight vandals struck multiple homes and cars with spray paint and the message: "Brown Pride" and "BP". If it had been "white pride" this story would be everywhere, as it is.....nary a word from the MSM this morning.

"Vandals spray painted more than a dozen cars and a few homes in the Smoky Hill area of Centennial over the weekend, Arapahoe County sheriff's deputies said.

"I got up and saw all of this and everything because it was pretty much just almost all the way around the car," said Jordan Egelston, one victim.

Fifteen cars, three houses and a few mailboxes were hit by taggers. Victims spent much of their Sunday cleaning up the mess."

The San Jose Democrat on Thursday proposed raising the beer tax by $1.80 per six-pack, or 30 cents per can or bottle. The current tax is 2 cents per can. That's an increase of about 1,500 percent.

Beall said the tax would generate $2 billion a year to fund health care services, crime prevention and programs to prevent underage drinking and addiction.

"The people who use alcohol should pay for part of the cost to society, just like we've accepted that concept with tobacco," Beall said."

Yeah, so apparently American Idol is following the same pattern as many local radio and television stations. Banning the word Jesus. Yes, folks, that's right, the word Jesus seems to have made it to the naughty list.

I first noticed this in reference to the word God last year when driving home from work and listening to that 80's song "Dear God". 'Cept when it was playing on the radio it was "Dear Man". Man substituting for the word God. I couldn't believe it and I'm a frickin' atheist.

I am currently sacrificing myself again on the alter of Liberalism to bring you news from The View.

I forced myself to watch this farce when Barack Obama was on a few weeks ago, I figured it would be interesting to see how it differed with John McCain on.

10:20 AM: So far they have just done the opening blah blah fest where they say a lot of nothing. The did mention John McCain like once, but mainly are still talking about how totally awesome The Messiah, AKA Barack Obama was/is. I can actually see the drool.

10:23: With little preamble, here comes McCain. McCain is forced to hug Joy Behar.. someone get the Lysol. Whoopie has renamed McCain "Jack Mac". So he starts of talking about the Mormon compound in Texas.

10:27: Right to the hard ball questions that were totally NOT present in the Obama interview. Right to Iraq. McCain looks a lot more chill than Obama did. He's handling the questions quite well. But these are WAY more hardball questions and they are hammering him. Obama got marshmallow's.

Joy asks if he is going to ask for a draft. Then bitches at him about why they keep going back. Elizabith just sits there like a lump on a log. Someone needs to Donald Trump her ass: you're fired!

10:32: So, Elizabeth brings up the 100 year quote. Great. He explains once more about having a presence there. I mean come on DUH. it's old already.

Now Joy has to bring up George Bush, says she is one of the worst president EVER... now she runs with him and says "How are you different?" It's a good question, but she's so angry with him, you cab practically see the steam coming rom her ears.. It's really ridiculous how hard they are being on McCain and how soft they were with Obama. No, no media bias here.

10:35: McCain gets a bit wishy washy on the illegal immigration issue. Comprehensive "plan" blah blah. But MUST SECURE BORDERS. Yes John must.

10:40: Whoopie, who has been quiet, asks if he would boycott the opening of the Olympics. He says yes, he would, the opening.Cina is a superpower and they should NOT be acting like this. Now she asks him the first three things he'd do when he gets elected question which is the same she asked Obama.

1) National security. Top priority.
2) The economy, how can we ease taxes and provide incentives. Secured loans for homeowners. Hmmm.
3) Help our youth serve this nation. Not juts in the military. But peace corp, volunteering, serve the nation in good.

Much better answer than Obama's cut and run.

Elizabeth brings up the possibility of Condi for VP. He denies it. Joy asks him about his going to strip clubs. Really appropriate. The lack of respect from her is kinda annoying. Come on John get pissy and slap Joy.

10:52: Whoopie asks why John McCain he didn't vote for MLK day. Gotta get the race thing in. His reasoning, federal holidays cost a lot. But he said he's changed his mind now and that he is a man worth honoring.(Panderer.)

Joy then out of nowhere just says..."So do you admit now it was a mistake to go into Iraq." McCain,"No." John says he'll get Osama if elected.LOL. JOHN OSAMA IS DEAD!!! Whoopie just sits there shaking her head. The disdain for McCain is palpable.

It's really disgusting how they treated John versus how they treated Obama, but I think he actually did pretty well. He didn't even grind his teeth as much as usual, and in this case he really had reason. Joy was by far the most repugnant, but they all seemed on the attack. Watch out girls, your biased lefty agenda is showing like a cheap slip.

Just in case people are wondering, it's clear that the leftist mantra of "separation of church and state" only applies to Christians. Because I couldn't find a peep about this on a single leftist site.

Katherine Kersten, of the Star Tribune up in Minnesotastan, reports on Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a K-8 charter school in Inver Grove Heights.......

Charter schools are still taxpayer funded public schools and cannot by law promote a religion. Remember that.

"TIZA has many characteristics that suggest a religious school. It shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, whose mission is "establishing Islam in Minnesota." The building also houses a mosque. TIZA's executive director, Asad Zaman, is a Muslim imam, or religious leader, and its sponsor is an organization called Islamic Relief.

Students pray daily, the cafeteria serves halal food - permissible under Islamic law -- and "Islamic Studies" is offered at the end of the school day."

"Zaman(The Imam who runs the school) maintains that TIZA is not a religious school. He declined, however, to allow me to visit the school to see for myself, "due to the hectic schedule for statewide testing." But after I e-mailed him that the Minnesota Department of Education had told me that testing would not begin for several weeks, Zaman did not respond -- even to urgent calls and e-mails seeking comment before my first column on TIZA."

".....an eyewitness has stepped forward. Amanda Getz of Bloomington is a substitute teacher. She worked as a substitute in two fifth-grade classrooms at TIZA on Friday, March 14. Her experience suggests that school-sponsored religious activity plays an integral role at TIZA.

Arriving on a Friday, the Muslim holy day, she says she was told that the day's schedule included a "school assembly" in the gym after lunch.

Before the assembly, she says she was told, her duties would include taking her fifth-grade students to the bathroom, four at a time, to perform "their ritual washing."

Afterward, Getz said, "teachers led the kids into the gym, where a man dressed in white with a white cap, who had been at the school all day," was preparing to lead prayer. Beside him, another man "was prostrating himself in prayer on a carpet as the students entered."

"The prayer I saw was not voluntary," Getz said. "The kids were corralled by adults and required to go to the assembly where prayer occurred."

Well it's been a great week for Barry Obama.

First he was so desperate to buy votes he gave away free tickets to a Dave Matthews concert on Sunday.The ticket giveaway was announced as Bil Clinton was preparing to speak. Coincidence? I think not.

Then he was caught wearing eye glitter during the Chris Matthews Love-A-Thon, uh, I mean college tour interview on Wednesday. (It was either eye glitter or rather sparkly eye shadow.) An interview in which Obama admitted to his Moonbat faithful that there was NOTHING Bush could have done to stop 9/11, "there was no warning," he said.

Then he gets super awesome endorsements from everyone's perennial favorites; Jihad Jane Fonda and Jimmah "What Shah?" Carter! I mean that is SUPER COOL!

To top of a glorious week on the campaign trail, Barack Obama, while hittin' the mean streets of Philly, stopped by a market and instead of ordering the PHILLY cheese steak sandwich, decided to nibble on some $99.00 a pound ham. Man of the people I say.

As for the guy looking for a photo with Obama, had he just said, SURE, and taken the picture there would have been no "episode". Obama sells himself as a uniter and a man of the people, he not only wouldn't take his picture with the guy, but he was rude as well. "After several testy exchanges, Obama said: "Yeah, well whatever.
