I just did the rounds of the MSM, checking on any updates on the terrorists attacks in London and Fox News had this as it's headline: 'We Won't Live Scared'

The thought of coming down with hemorrhagic fever freaks me out, but is highly unlikely.I'm scared that people think that just because they didn't succeed that it's "NO BIG DEAL". I tend to be claustrophobic.

But really, not much scares me. Certainly not terrorists bent on killing the ever loving shit out of me and mine. Nope. I'm actually not in any way being sarcastic. It's not that I don't think it could happen; as obviously displayed today they mean to turn the West into Baghdad. But really what the hell can I do about it?

Nope, not fear, more like vigilance. I see a bunch of dudes in a car filled with gas and nails....I'll look twice. I see an apartment with no furniture and 6 guys all looking decidedly middle eastern and about 10 computers (true story), I'll alert the FBI(I did). I'm on a plane and a bunch of Imam's start yelling Osama, I'll certainly be watching them and telling the crew that this shit is whack. That's about all I can do. It's about all any of us can do.

So no, we don't have to live "scared", just live smart.

The Greatest Generation

Tonight, or more accurately this coming morning, in England, the world lost one more of The Greatest Generation. My husband's grandmother, whom we affectionately called our Nan, or Rose, passed away in her sleep, at the ripe old age of 96.

Rose died after a valiant fight against cancer and a host of other issues that plague the old and infirm. And she fought hard all the way till the end.

She was what I call a tough broad. Over shot's of Jack, Nan told me stories of her times in "the war". Often times the stories were hilarious, other times heartbreaking, always engaging.

She was a nurse during WW2 and told me many times about what it was like living in London during the bombings, the fear, the uncertainly, the high demand for smokes.

Take some time to read this account here from another WW2 nurse in England, to get the gist of what life was like back then.

We need to never forget....as it so clearly seems we are; what our soldiers and those on the front lines do. They fought a war just as we are now,the enemy wanted the same result. The Power Of Negative Thinking

So, stopped by Huff Po this morning and saw this headline:"US Arming Suspected Iraqi Militants". It links to a NYT story.

I thought WTF? So I clicked on the story. And found it to be quite different than what Huff Po had implied. The NYT headline reads:"U.S. Arming Sunnis in Iraq to Battle Old Qaeda Allies".

Is it just me or is there a HUGE different there? The HuffPo title implies we are arming terrorists, the NYT article states the facts of the matter.

Sites like HuffPo couldn't resist giving it that little extra twist. Read the story, educate yourself and know going forward not to believe what you read on first glance at sites like the Huffington Post.

Mr. Bootie called Arlen's office:"I called Arlen Specter's Office and asked how he voted and I was told he voted against John Cornyn's amendment. I ask you mean he voted to allow such convicted Felon's to stay even against the fact they are here Illegally. I was told Yes he voted against it even knowing they were Felon's and here Illegally."

Arlen Specter voted against this amendment that would stop felons, thugs and terrorists from gaining residency.

The fact that it isn't disgusts me on about 5 million levels.

Why did Cherry Hill, New Jersey Chief of Police Charlie Jones not report the three men arrested for a terror plot at Fort Dix to Homeland Security? Good question.

I happened to catch a couple of minutes of Bill O'Reilly's show tonight, Monday. He was talking about the Fort Dix 6. The part that caught my attention was when someone was talking to Papa Duka, the father of three of the men charged in the potential slaughter of hundreds of our soldiers at Fort Dix.

Mr. Duka, on camera for all to see told his story of how he and his family came to be in the US. All I caught was the part where he said they flew from Italy, to Mexico City, to Monterrey, then from there he "paid a guy several thousand dollars" to smuggle them across the border. Down here in San Diego, we call those guys coyotes, and they smuggle human refuse into this country along with drugs.

Can someone answer Bill's question? Why didn't Charlie Jones turn these vile pieces of illegal criminal invading scum over to authorities? And why the hell were these people allowed to stay in this country illegally, racking up at the very least, last time I heard, over 50 vehicle violations alone. On top of being CRIMINAL INVADERS.

Some tough questions and they are of vital importance if we are going to keep the fight over there, and not here.
