"In the last year, it's gotten much worse," said Jack Childs, who uses infrared cameras to study endangered jaguars in eastern Arizona. He loses one or two of the cameras every month to smugglers.

Richard Felger, another botanist, said he stays away from remote mountains in Sonora since being robbed and threatened on research trips.

"GARLAND, Texas (AP) — A 6-year-old girl who won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert with an essay falsely claiming her father died in Iraq isn't going to the show after all.

The girl won a makeover that included a blonde Hannah Montana wig, as well as the grand prize: airfare for four to Albany, N.Y., and four tickets to the sold-out Hannah Montana concert on Jan. 9.

The opening line in the essay was: "My daddy died this year in Iraq."

The girl's mother had told Club Libby Lu officials that the girl's father died April 17 in a roadside bombing in Iraq, company spokeswoman Robyn Caulfield said. But the mother, Priscilla Ceballos, admitted later Friday that the essay and the military information she provided about her daughter's father were untrue.

"We did the essay and that's what we did to win. We did whatever we could do to win," Ceballos said in an interview Friday with KDFW-TV of Dallas."

"North Korea recently turned over to the United States equipment found to be contaminated with traces of highly enriched uranium — HEU — apparently contradicting the country's stance that it never had such a program, FOX News has confirmed.

"Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), has issued a disturbing policy which requires all employees to refrain from using the word "Christmas" in oral or written form. Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to SWOSU following a complaint from a university affiliate.

John Misak, the Director of Human Resources, recently visited various university departments and employee groups and informed everyone that any decorations featuring the word "Christmas" in any work or public areas of the university must be immediately removed. He also instructed everyone to discontinue the use of the term "Christmas" in their speech while on the job. This censorship specifically includes exchanging greetings of "Merry Christmas" among employees or with nonemployees, whether initiated by a nonuniversity employee or not. Christmas remains a legal holiday for state employees, including those at SWOSU. The directive does not include any other legal holidays such as Thanksgiving or New Year’s."

How frickin' lame can this election cycle get?

I was up VERY early this morning and Fox News had Ron Paul on for a few minutes to talk about his crazy ass 6 million dollar fund raising tea party on Sunday.

So the blond chick asked Dr. Paul some questions which he answered with only slightly cognizant responses and then she played a snippit of Mike Huckabee's newest ad. In the background is a CHRISTMAS tree and what looks like a shelf with Christmas ornaments on it to me, but apparently in the name of hatred for all things Christian, it's a CROSS!!!! Oooooohhhhhh!!!!! Aaaahhhhhhh!!!! You be the judge. So the blond chick asked Ron Paul what he thought of the "cross", Paul's response was: "When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross".

If I didn't already think Ron Paul was a psycho nut job, this little ditty firmly cemented that fact.

I'm sitting here watching the news and the first story is about how the criminal invaders at the border are attacking out border patrol agents violently via rocks, moltov cocktails and more. They are then being pelted with pepper spray by our agents, many of whom suffer severe injuries to themselves and significant damage to their vehicles (and who pays for those folks?).

So the story shows a proud border patrol agent expressing his frustration at the unfettered violence of these would be criminal invaders. The poor guy looks like he'd like to whip out an assault rifle and just start mowing them down, I feel for him.

But the real feature of this ABC local news story? Well it's not the assaulted AMERICAN border patrol agents, it's not the level of scum these pieces of shit are that are trying to invade our country and it's not the toll of these scum on our country or the fact that their own sick corrupt government and police should be disbanded completely....oh, no, not those things.

The feature of the story was the "human rights" of these filthy bottom feeders and how the evil border patrol agents sometimes hit homes when responding to the attacks (which they admit house and hide these refuse of society) and "innocent women and children" get pepper sprayed violating their "human rights".

Unfuckingbelievable.

This story personifies why I call the troops hero's.

"Abdul-Raad was on his way to the river to turn on the pump that feeds water to his family's home.

He has no memory of the explosion, but the soldiers just 20 yards away heard it clearly.

"I saw a lot of dust and then I didn't feel anything," said Abdul-Raad. "I looked and saw that my arm and leg were cut off, and I passed out."

The boy tried to move, tried to get to the American soldiers and their armored vehicle. He fainted again. Then he came to once more.

"Mister, mister!" he cried.

By then, the soldiers from Second Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, part of the 2nd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division were combing through the grassy banks of the Tigris River, searching for a bomb crater.

Abdul-Raad could still see three soldiers and cried out weakly: "Mister, please help me." They found him in the tall grass.

"We heard a little noise," said Sgt. Curtis Myers, 26, from Carbondale, Ill. "At first, it didn't even look like a person."

1st Lt. Charley Staab, 25 from Novi, Mich., carried Abdul-Raad, his leg hanging on by only some skin and muscle. The boy was pale but conscious. The other soldiers searched the river banks for explosives and found two more bombs.

Back in the armored vehicle, two soldiers tied tourniquets on the boy's injured limbs. They rushed back to base, where medics were waiting.

"He was definitely a priority to get him out of here," says Staff Sgt. Mica Phelps, 36, a medic from Killeen, Texas.

Once the boy was stable, a medevac helicopter took him to the 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad's Green Zone. Over two days of surgery, Abdul-Raad hovered between life and death. But 11 days later, he returned to the home he shares with his parents and five siblings in Arab Jabour."

"When Vífill Atlason, a 16-year-old high school student from Iceland, decided to call the White House, he could not imagine the kind of publicity it would bring.

Introducing himself as Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, the actual president of Iceland, Atlason found President George W. Bush's allegedly secret telephone number and phoned, requesting a private meeting with him.

"I just wanted to talk to him, have a chat, invite him to Iceland and see what he'd say," Vífill told ABC News.

A White House official, who asked not to be identified, denied the young man had accessed a private number but instead dialled 202-456-1414, the main switchboard for the West Wing.

Vífill's mother, Harpa Hreinsdottir, a teacher at the local high school, said her son did, in fact, get through to a private phone.

"This was not a switchboard number of any kind," she told ABC News, "it was a secret number at the highest security level."

Atlason's mother Harpa, who was not home at the time, said she was shocked to find her son had been taken away by the police but could not quite bring herself to be angry with her son.

"He's very resourceful you know," she said. "He has become a bit of a hero in Iceland. Bush is very unpopular here."

Twenty-six-year-old Sarah Kreager suffered broken facial bones and other injuries after she was punched, kicked and dragged off the bus by nine middle school students. A man with Kreager, Troy Ellis, was also beaten.

Kreager and Ellis are white and the students are black.

Transit police say they have found no evidence that the attack was provoked. They continue to examine video from a surveillance camera on the bus.

The attack on the WTC has caused severe damage to American economic forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition the Pentagon was attacked and more civilians lost lives over a field in Shanksville PA.

Yesterday the Islamic forces also launched an attack against Hiran, Somalia.

"A Boston firefighter is mending from what could have been deadly stab wounds he suffered early yesterday morning when he was allegedly jumped in East Boston while off duty by a group of Hispanic males who told him they “don’t want any gringo here.”

Though police are not classifying the incident as racially fueled, the Boston Police Department’s Community Disorders Unit is investigating. The 32-year-old jake, whose name officials were not releasing, is white."

Nah, doesn't sound racially fueled, because it wasn't the white guy saying he "don't want no Beaners here". Un-fucking-believable.

"Several Iraqi military and law enforcement officials who had been in the United States for intelligence and training courses are on the lam after bolting from their classes.

The Army has acknowledged that five officers disappeared between 2005 and 2007, but intelligence officials told The Washington Times that the number of missing Iraqis is closer to a dozen, including one brigadier general who fled to Canada earlier this year.

Some are seeking asylum and some have just vanished."

Newest Update: Shooter identified as Robert A. Hawkins of Bellevue.Hawkins, 19, had been arrested on a couple of misdemeanors in November and was due in court this month. One charge included minor in possession. He was arrested on Nov. 24.

The shooting took place @ Westroads Mall, Omaha's largest shopping mall. 3 weeks before Christmas and on the first day of Hanukkah.

UPDATED:"A man with a rifle opened fire at a busy Omaha shopping mall Wednesday, killing eight people before taking his own life, police said. Five others were wounded, two critically.

WOWT-TV reported that the killer was a 19-year-old man who left a suicide note stating, "I'm going out in style." The man's vehicle was reportedly found in the parking lot."

The Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll released Wednesday showed the former Arkansas governor with 20 percent, compared with Rudy Giuliani at 17 percent. Even though Huckabee and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have played strong in early voting states like Iowa, Giuliani has led the field in practically every national poll since the race began."

More terrorist ass kissing fun from the BBC.

"The BBC funded a paintballing trip for men later accused of Islamic terrorism and failed to pass on information about the 21/7 bombers to police, a court was told yesterday.

The BBC paid for Mr Hamid and fellow defendants Muhammad al-Figari and Mousa Brown to go on a paintballing trip at the Delta Force centre in Tonbridge, Kent, in February 2005. The men, accused of terrorism training, were filmed for a BBC programme called "Don’t Panic, I’m Islamic", screened in June 2005.

Nasreen Suleaman, a researcher on the programme, told the court that Mr Hamid, 50, contacted her after the July 2005 attack and told her of his association with the bombers. But she said that she felt no obligation to contact the police with this information. Ms Suleaman said that she informed senior BBC managers but was not told to contact the police.

Ms Suleaman said she was not aware that Ramzi Mohammed and Hussein Osman, two of the July bombers, had joined Mr Hamid at the Tonbridge paintball centre on 7/3/2005."

Ms. Suleaman should be tried as a co-conspirator or at least jailed for abundant stupidity. The BBC continues to amaze me. They almost make Al Jazeera look tame.

"ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Two days after naming its mascot "PorkChop," the Philadelphia Phillies' new Triple-A affiliate abruptly dropped the moniker after receiving complaints from Hispanics that it was offensive.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, whose mascot is a large, furry pig, had selected PorkChop from more than 7,300 fan submissions. The team, which begins play in 2008, announced Monday that the mascot will be named "Ferrous" instead.

General Manager Kurt Landes said he heard from several Hispanics who said PorkChop was derogatory."

WASHINGTON , DC 12/03/07- Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U. S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U. S. employer of Persons of Inability.

Private-sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the fast food industry (68%), and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%). At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Nonabled -- banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?"

"As a Nonabled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lugnut twister at a GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to her lack of any discernible job skills. "This new law should really help people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy: "As a Senator With No Abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with No Abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."

"International observers and critics declared Monday that Russia's parliamentary elections failed to meet democratic standards, saying President Vladimir Putin and his government abused their power to favor the dominant Kremlin-backed party while opposition forces were harassed.

The central conclusion was that Sunday's vote "failed to meet many of the commitments and standards that we have," said Goran Lennmarker, president of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Parliamentary Assembly. He said it was "not a fair election."

How is this shocking? Putin has been moving away from "democracy" for some time now. That the elections were questionable at best comes as no surprise.
